Andy has built broad knowledge and experience in healthcare IT for the past 20 years.  As the Senior Director of Research and Clinical Information at Providence Health & Services, Andy provides executive leadership and support to create, maintain, foster, and grow a logical data plan for clinical information that supports the hospital system's research efforts. 

 

He also leads on some of the novel technology efforts for healthcare IT including Big Data infrastructure, Natural Language Processing, Machine Learning, Advanced Analytics.  Andy worked as the Director of Clinical informatics at Adventist Health Systems, a large multi-hospital healthcare system prior to his current position. In this role, he led a team to provide EHR informatics support to 32 hospitals across 8 states. In his early career, Andy worked as a managing consultant for IBM and Dell, focusing on Electronic Health Record (EHR) system implementation, system optimization, IT governance, IT roadmap, and process improvement.
